So, what EXACTLY is it that interior designers do?
We delved into this question on episode 1 of our YouTube series, Behind the Design. We feel it’s an important question to answer as we want our clients to know exactly what they’re getting when investing in our design services, and why interior design is such a crucial part of the success of any renovation or new build project.

Designers are always sharpening their skills, expanding their knowledge, and looking out for the future trends. We attend seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay on top of the latest technologies and innovations in the industry.

This is part of design most people are familiar with and that also select the décor portion of interiors…furniture, accessories, lighting etc.
This behind-the-scenes work is all about bringing uniqueness and freshness to our clients’ designs.

INTERIOR DESIGNERS ARE PROJECT MANAGERS
1. We see it through!
Once the renovation or construction of your space starts, we shift into the project management portion of our role as designers. We make regular site visits, and liaise directly with the contractor, trades, and architect to ensure the integrity of the design.
2. We’re problem solvers and troubleshooters.
And if any issues or surprises arise on site, we’re there to put on our thinking hats and come up with the best solutions!
This is an aspect of being an interior designer that requires great skill in communication, planning, and organization.
So, we hope that answers the question of “What EXACTLY is it that interior designer do?!” Being an interior designer is a multifaceted job, no two days are the same and it’s always evolving and changing.
